Rafael & Jasmyn

Two young hearts in their third year of marriage. "Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. ... Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ." Ephesians 5:1-2, 21

Transition Time at Rafa's family's house

January 25th we arrived in Santiago, Chile where it is summertime! The first few days were sooo hot. We ventured into the pool often to cool off. Right now we are spending time looking for work, enjoying Rafael's summer vacation from the University, and preparing to move into our apartment. They say the apartment should be ready to move into in March, :) but no specific date yet. We hope before Rafa goes back to classes which is March 15th. So for now we are looking into what fridge we will buy, what type of dining table will fit into our place, and sofas. We are so thankful for all the generous gifts of family and friends that are making it possible to purchase essentials for our new home together!

For Jasmyn's 25th birthday the family here had a wonderful lunch prepared at the house...porkchops with homemade apple sauce, mashed potatoes, salad of lettuce tomatoes and avacado ( "palta"), and a toast with a glass of white wine filled with sugared sliced strawberries - everything so delicious. To top off the meal, dessert was a cup of fruit salad with orange sorbet. Rafa and Jasmyn took the afternoon to go to the movies to see the lastest Jim Carrey film about "Dick and Jane" (had quite some laughs) and then go for a walk at a park in the hills where we watched people play paintball and visited the horses there in their corrals. Of course it only made Jasmyn once again desire to have a horse of her own..he he. :) The views from that park are amazing. Behind the park is the Andes where you can take a trail up to the peak of Cerro Ramon that takes 9 hours or so. We hope someday to take the challenge...we might need some camping gear for the night upon the peak though first.

All is going really well. Please keep praying that Jasmyn will come across the right job here in Santiago and for wisdom with being stewards of our money and our time together....we have been starting to practice guitar together - so fun! We joked that maybe we should stop looking for employment and just start earning money by singing and playing guitar on the buses here in Santiago..he he, but we don't want to worry those in the US.

Blessings,
from us!
